Bravoleum Picual, 2nd best oil in the world at the Concorso Internazionale Sol D'Oro in Italy
The Concorso Internazionale Sol D'Oro 2017/2018 took place from 14 to 19 February. Organized in Verona (Italy) by Veronafiere as a breakthrough of Sol & Agrifood, is the world's most important international olive oil competition and is intended to promote the best extra virgin olive oils in the world and motivate improvements in Production and quality.
360 samples from different varieties of extra virgin olive oil from Italy, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Lebanon, Morocco, Portugal, Japan and Chile participated in the competition. Among them have chosen the winners of the Sun of Gold, sun of silver and sun of bronze, as well as great mentions in its different categories.
These samples have been submitted to a jury consisting of a Commission of the International Olive Council (IOC) and to strict evaluation measures, since they have been classified according to the intensity of their fruity in conformity with the bases of this contest International. Then they are evaluated by panels recognized by the IOC, in order to rate these oils for their taste, smell and retronasal sensation, their harmony, persistence and complexity.
It is not the first time that the AOVES of Hacienda El Palo obtain recognitions and prizes in the Concorso Internazionale Sol d'oro, since in 2014 and in 2016 they obtained the Golden Sun (Sol d'oro), respectively, in the light fruity category.
In this edition Bravoleum Picual has obtained the Silver Sun (Sol D'ARGENTO) in the light fruity category, consolidating itself as the 2nd best oil in the world.
The awards ceremony will take place in Verona, during the "Sol & Agrifood" Fair, on 15-18 April.
